Puva Combi Light was launched in 1994 as a division of Arkade, which was specialised in distributing dermatological products. PUVA Combi Light has quickly established itself as an innovative and dynamic company located in Leuven, near the Belgian capital of Brussels.

As an answer on the increasing demand for phototherapeutic devices on the Belgian market, Puva Combi Light developed its first home made, full body cabin in 1995. The cabin was equipped with 48 tubes in total, varying in configuration of UVA and UVB tubes. The most innovating feature was the dosimetrical unit, which could be set in time as well as in Joules.

Only one year after the launch of the first full body cabin, PCL brought its first hand and feet device to the market. This device is specially developed for treating local skin disorders on the hands, wrists, feet and lower legs. Its shape is designed to have easy access with both hand and feet while keeping a comfortable position during treatment.

From the year 2000 on, demand in neighbouring countries increased rapidly. In order to expand the success on the Belgian market, several new types of cabins were developed to meet the specific demands of other European countries. Gradually our phototherapeutic devices became more and more electronically controlled, which makes them easy to use even in different languages. PCL was one of the first companies to use electronic ballast in order to guarantee a longer lamp life-time and a reduced power consumption.

For the last 5 years PCL has been expanding his market to the entire EMEA area. With over 300 cabins sold worldwide and several official dealerships in a dozen different countries, PCL has become a world player in phototherapeutic treatment devices.
