A breakthrough for patients and dermatologists: the PCL 8000 series, the latest generation of PCL cabins.
From now on, the treatment of skin disorders will become even more personalised. The pressure
undergone by the patient is reduced. The dermatologist is given more control over the recovery process.
|
| Fast and Accurate |
Measuring is knowing: the personal patient card measures, registers, and stores.
It gives you rapid access to your patient's medical history, providing you with an excellent basis on
which to develop the most suitable treatment.
Up to 24 treatments can be pre-programmed, which guarantees you against any misuse by unqualified persons
and reduces the risk of treatment to a minimum.
|
| Safer |
A whole host of preventive safety measures will help the dermatologist make the patient feel more
reassured than ever.
In this new series, the cabins are equipped with up to 10 sensors, camera observation, alarm signals in
case of interruption or defect, control displays, as well a a start/stop button within arm's reach of the
patient. The cabin starts to operate only once the door is shut. This function can, however, be
deactivated for claustrophobic patients.
|
| User Friendlier |
Operating the cabin has also become easier thanks to a touchscreen and graphic display.
The cabin itself is more comfortable: a wide access with an easy door, a start/stop button within arm's
reach and automatic switch-off when the door is openend. The feeling of spaciousness without dust flying
around furhter contributes to the user-friendliness of this PCL cabin.
|
| Increased Efficiency |
PCL cabins make a wise investment, not least in view of their increased efficiency that positions them well
into the next generation.
Electronically controlled UVA and UVB lamps ensure increased output and longer life. Starters are no longer
necessary in the 8000-series. Energy and maintenance costs are reduced. Modifications in the configuration
of the lamps are simpler and cheaper. Not to mention that the Ethernet connection now even allows for remote
monitoring of the treatment. An all-round wise investment.

The PCL 8000 Series cabine are equipped with a modern
and reliable graphic LCD display and touchscreen. This control system
greatly increases the available features. The software is continuously
updated and can easily be upgraded via the standard Ethernet interface.
A limited list of current features:
- Real Time Clock and Date
- Error detection system with easy to understand error messages
- PCL cards can be re-(formatted)
- Blank cards can be configured as a patient, master or configuration card
- A card is configured for one treatment type: UVA, UVB or UVA-B
- A master card is used to set joule levels
- The running screen informs the operator about:
- Current joule levels
- Estimated remaining treatment time
- Continuously measured lamp intensity levels
- Lifetime of the lamps
- Door open/close state
- Lamps on/off state
- Defective lamps
- A patient card can store:
- the historical data of all previous treatments including
the treatment totals
- the patients name and social security number
- door claustrophobic state
- selected treatment plan based on skip types
- lamp type selection (UVA, UVB, UVA-B)
- patients language
- The configuration card allows the user to personalize the user interface
- Choice a language for all messages. Languages can be easily added.
- Select a keyboard layout
- Switch auditive alarms on or off
- Configure the screensaver
- Select a standard or inverse screen
- Select one of three door switch modes
- Select one of three fan modes
- Make or restore backups on a pc
- Set date and time
- Define and configure up to 6 skin types. This includes
setting start and stop values and increase speed for
both UVA and UVB treatments.
- Full configuration of the Ethernet interface
(IP, Netmask, Gateway, Nameserver)
- Configuration of backup FTP server
- Treatment cards programmed by an RCU inform the patient clearly
|
The PCL 8000 Series cabine is equipped with an Ethernet interface and
a build-in webserver. Just type the name of the cabine in your favorite webbrowser
to monitor and control the cabine. Your webbrowser also allows you to print
the historical data stored on the PCL cards.
The Ethernet connection further allows you to make automatic backup copies of
the PCL cards on a pc.
|

The PCL Remote Control Unit is a standalone device. It can be used to
remotely monitor and control PCL cabines. Further it is required to make
treatment cards.
|
| Treatment Cards |
PCL cards fan be pre-programmed with a list of future treatments. The operator
can set start and stop values and a treatment interval. The RCU then
stores semi-automatic for example 10 treatments on the card. This card
can then be used by the patient to receive a treatment without the presence
of medical staff. For security reasons the patient can not adjust the levels neither the dates.
This type of cards is especially suited for treatments of patients on remote location where
the medical staff is only limited available.
|
| Control and Monitor |
Once multiple PCL cabines are installed in one location, it is usefull to monitor
and control all cabines from one desk. The RCU is designed to fit this job.
The continuous semi-automatic monitoring warns the operator for possible errors on
all connected PCL cabines.
The operator can control all cabines remotely by inserting a master or patient card
in the RCU's cardreader.

| General |
How do the PCL full body treatment cabines compare to the products of the
competition?
PCL offers products of the same quality as any competitive product. But we
add either more features and/or a much better price.
We can offer more advanced features because our full body treatment product
line was redesigned just one year ago. To ensure the reliability this new design is based on an
existing PCL design which we produced for more then 10 years. Due to the
recent development date we were able to incorporate the latest technology
which offers more features for a lower price.
Most competitors use old designs with old expensive technology with limited
features.
We can offer a very competitive price because we use cost-effective production
systems, produce higher volumes which reduces prices and do not use a
cost-effective sales system. Our sales system is web based and offers all information
on-line. We do not require an expensive sales staff with the related travel costs.
|
| 8000 Series and the competitors |
The PCL 8000 series offers a unique electronic lamp control system. All 48 lamps
can be individually fired and controlled. This electronic lamp system offers
a higher lamp life time and a higher lamp light output. The latter results in shorter
treatment times which lowers the stress imposed on patients and allow optimal use
of the unit (more patients can use the unit in one day).
The lamps will start instantaneously, which allows very accurate UVB treatments.
Treatment times of 15 seconds when an UVB treatment starts are not unusual. But they
can only be accurately dosed when the lamps use an electronic start system.
This new advanced electronic system can also detect defective lamps automatically and
indicate these lamps on the graphical display (optional feature).
The PCL 8000 series offers the same advanced touchscreen graphic user interface.
The 8000 series can also be equipped with a multiple sensor system (up to 4 sensors
for each light frequency). This decreases the security risk and allows for more
accurate measurements.
You will notice the 8000 series has about the same price
as the full body units our competitors are offering. But their offerings should
generally be compared with our 6000 series.
